Broken Sound Club is a Private, 36 hole golf facility located in Boca Raton, Florida. The facility has two 18 hole courses. They are The Old Course and The New Course.
The Old Course opened in 1987. The course was designed by Joe Lee. The course was renovated in 2003 by Gene Bates. The Old Course boasts distinctive bunkers and rolling terrain.The Old Course encompasses much more water than before, and stone bridges and accents complement the array of oak trees. The Old Course is one of the few in South Florida without any homes on it.
The Old Course at Broken Sound has been home to the PGA Champions Tour Season Opener since 2006. The course has vegetation and an appearance more characteristic of a Carolina coastal course than a Florida course.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,906 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,215 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 6, a par-5 that plays to 568 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 169 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 481-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Old Course is # 14, a 203 yard par-3.
